DRIES VAN NOTEN SS 2010 Ethnicity is not a synonym of elegance, but miscegenation just explodes it right out. Seems like many designers are looking back to their roots for this season (Ms. Prada "never looks back"). The ones who did well: as they walked back their time line, they fetched keys of their history and rebuilt or just brought them back for remembrance. But not Dries. He went back, looked back and kept only the ethnicity, from all collections I've seen, it was always there and specifically from where, we could tell. This season I felt like he cauldroned every race and their seas, added a hint of different beliefs and had the girls stroll it down the runway. Am I the only one loving Dries more?
